Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
This policy explains what information Ironhold Penitentiary ("Ironhold", "we", "us") collects when you play on the server, visit our website or buy from our store, and what we do with it. We keep it to what we need to run the server.
What we collect
When you play on the server
- Your Minecraft username and account ID (UUID).
- Your IP address. We use it to keep the server secure, to enforce bans, and to measure connection quality (ping).
- If you invite a friend or use an invite code, we keep who invited whom, how long the new player has played, and a one-way scrambled form (a salted hash) of each player's connection. We use it only to check that an invite isn't one person on two accounts; the scrambled form can't be turned back into your IP address.
- What you do in game: chat messages, commands, and gameplay records (for example, blocks placed or broken, and items traded or taken). These help staff investigate reports, cheating and griefing.
- Information from our anti-cheat system about how your client moves and interacts, used only to detect cheating.
When you visit the website
- Our web server keeps standard logs: your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, and your browser type. We use them to keep the site running and secure.
- We don't use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies.
When you buy from the store
- When you type a username into our store page, our server looks it up with Mojang to show you that player's face and whether they've played on Ironhold. The lookup goes from our server, so your browser and IP address aren't shared with Mojang, and we don't keep a record of the names searched.
- Purchases are processed by Tebex. Your payment details (card or PayPal) are handled by Tebex and their payment providers, never by us.
- Tebex shares with us the information we need to deliver and support your purchase: your Minecraft username, what you bought, the transaction ID, and the email address and name you gave at checkout.
How we use it
- To run the server and the website, and to deliver what you buy.
- To enforce the server rules, handle reports and appeals, and prevent cheating, fraud and abuse.
- To answer you when you contact us.
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
- Tebex, to process and support store purchases.
- Our hosting provider (OVH), which runs the servers our data is stored on.
- Authorities, only if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Game and website logs: usually up to 90 days.
- Gameplay records used for moderation: for as long as they're useful for investigating reports, and removed at server wipes where practical.
- Invite records: until the next server wipe.
- Backups: kept for a short time (about a week) and then deleted.
- Ban records and purchase records: for as long as they're needed (for example, to enforce a ban or to meet legal and accounting requirements).
Children
Ironhold is open to players of all ages, but we don't knowingly ask for or collect personal information beyond what's described above. Store purchases by anyone under 18 should be made with a parent or guardian's permission. If you're a parent and think we hold information about your child that we shouldn't, contact us and we'll remove it.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about your Minecraft account, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us below. Some information, such as ban records or purchase records, may need to be kept for the reasons above.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
